At least 95% of my work is now completed using natural, ambient or LED lighting. When choosing my LED lighting, the answer is simple. I use Nanlite products. Their complete range of lighting solutions are exactly that - Solutions!
With my work, the creative process only begins once I’ve solved any lighting problems I may have, and the range of Nanlite LED solutions are extensive, accurate and reliable. These are COB lights that make light shaping very easy using soft boxes, umbrellas and fresnels. They’re also very powerful for their sizes and with very high performance in regards to build quality, light quality and low fan noise. Currently, I am using the Forza 60 (60w) and Forza 300 (300w) models.

When I work up close in low light, these lights are my go-to light source. Not only are they small and easy to position in tight spaces but they offer exceptionally accurate colour, including the full RGB spectrum. They also charge via USB-C which is super handy!
I use the PavoTube II 6C and the 15C. The 6C is my ‘take everywhere’ light - it’s very small and portable and fits into most small to medium sized camera bags. It’s lightweight yet built really well, and excellent as accent lights or even key lights in closer situations. The 15C is around 2x the size of the 6C and great for those times where portability isn’t an issue. It’s more powerful than the 6C and has a wider coverage. otherwise they are pretty much identical in quality.
